After graduating from the Civil Engineering department at METU (Middle East Technical University), Altuğ began his career as a design engineer specializing in reinforced concrete building structures. The challenge of designing safely in a seismically active country led him to a Master’s degree focused on earthquake engineering, while he turned his lifelong passion for computer programming into full-time software development.
Altuğ now leads Prota Software’s technical and operational efforts and oversees the development of the ProtaStructure Suite — an integrated set of tools for modeling, finite element analysis, code-based design, and detailing of multi-material structures. In his own words:
