Structural Engineering Tools for Zambian Students:
Empowering Future Engineers with ProtaStructure Suite
Good day from Prota Software!
We’re excited to share a recent highlight from our engagement in Zambia. Our team had the opportunity to present ProtaStructure Suite 2025 to civil engineering students at the University of Zambia. This event was more than a software demo. It was a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and the next generation of structural engineers.
Moreover, it showcased the power of structural engineering tools for Zambian students, preparing them to meet real-world challenges through advanced BIM solutions.

Supporting Structural Engineering in Zambia
At Prota Software, we recognize the specific needs of engineering professionals in Zambia. Therefore, our solutions are designed to support both local and international design codes. This ensures that engineers can deliver safe, efficient, and compliant designs.
ProtaStructure Suite combines modeling, analysis, and detailing in one platform. It supports projects involving concrete, steel, and composite structures. As a result, it enables Zambian engineers and students to simplify workflows and improve productivity.
In addition, by providing structural engineering tools for Zambian students, we aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry application.
Designed for Your Standards
ProtaStructure supports key international and regional codes used in Zambia, including:
-
Eurocodes (EN 1992, 1993, 1998)
-
British Standards (BS 8110, BS 5950, BS 6399)
-
South African Standards (SANS)
-
ACI, ASCE, UBC, and more
Furthermore, our technical support team has deep expertise in these standards. This ensures a smooth implementation process. It is especially beneficial for institutions integrating structural engineering tools for Zambian students into their curricula.
Trusted Worldwide, Backed by Experience
With over 40 years of experience, Prota Software is trusted in more than 90 countries. Our goal is to equip engineers with effective tools for fast, safe, and precise design and documentation.
Consequently, these tools are now more accessible than ever to Zambian students through partnerships and educational outreach.
Highlights from University of Zambia: ProtaStructure in Action
On March 26th, we visited the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Zambia. It was a full day of learning, collaboration, and excitement.
ProtaStructure Suite 2025 Demo
From 14:00 to 16:30, we welcomed over 50 third- and fourth-year students, along with faculty and staff. Our colleague Volkan led a compelling online demonstration of ProtaStructure Suite. A lively Q&A session followed.
Importantly, the session gave students hands-on exposure to structural engineering tools for Zambian students. It also helped them understand how the software applies directly to their future careers.
Special thanks to Dr. Charles Kahanji for organizing and hosting this valuable event.
Moreover, three students were awarded smartwatches—courtesy of Prota Software—to recognize their participation and enthusiasm.
Prota Mingle Bingo
Later that evening, from 17:00 to 19:00, we hosted a networking event. It brought together department staff, Master’s and PhD students, and alumni. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and light snacks.
In addition, a fun round of Prota Mingle Bingo sparked engaging conversations about ProtaStructure’s capabilities and real-world applications.
