What a remarkable few days in Bogotá! Recently, we wrapped up our participation at the XII Congreso Nacional de Ingeniería Sísmica 2026, held from June 3 to 5, 2026, at the Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito. Above all, the experience exceeded every expectation. Centered on the theme “Learning and innovation toward resilient and sustainable structures,” this event gave us the perfect platform to showcase ProtaStructure NSR-10 to the Colombian engineering community.
In this post, we’ll share the highlights of our participation. Furthermore, we’ll cover the new partnerships, the Stand 6 experience, and the conversations that shaped the entire trip. Finally, we’ll thank the engineers, consultants, and partners who made this congress so memorable.

A Premier Gathering for Colombian Seismic Engineering
First of all, the National Earthquake Engineering Congress 2026 brought together the most important voices in Colombian seismic engineering. Specifically, the event united earthquake engineering experts, structural engineering professionals, technology providers, engineering companies, and industry leaders. Moreover, the strategic agenda aligned perfectly with our technological scope.
Indeed, the discussions covered topics that sit at the heart of our work:
- Seismic hazard and risk assessment
- Performance-Based Design (PBD)
- Seismic isolation and mitigation technologies
- Structural rehabilitation of infrastructure
As a result, every conversation at our booth felt purposeful and technically deep.
Strong Attendance and Reach
The Colombia Seismic Engineering Congress 2026 attracted 272 total attendees. Specifically, the audience included 195 industry professionals, 42 postgraduate students, and 35 undergraduate students. Furthermore, the digital reach was equally impressive — up to 8,000 impressions on LinkedIn, over 14,900 post views on Instagram, and institutional mailings delivered to 2,489 sector professionals.
Therefore, this event truly represented a nationwide gathering of Colombian structural and earthquake engineering minds.

Our Booth at Stand 6: ProtaStructure NSR-10 in Action
Throughout the three days, our team welcomed engineers and consultants at Stand 6. Specifically, we presented live demos of ProtaStructure NSR-10 working on real Colombian structural design problems. Moreover, attendees saw the full Prota Software lineup in action, including:
- ProtaStructure — for multi-material structural analysis and design
- ProtaDetails — for automated and interactive RC detail drawings
- ProtaSteel — for steel connection design and detailing
- ProtaBIM — for coordinating and sharing project models
Visitors did not just watch slides. Instead, they sat down, asked questions about their own projects, and saw how our NSR-10 design software handles the full workflow. Furthermore, the conversations turned again and again to NSR-10 software support. Notably, those are always our favorite kinds of questions to get.

Why ProtaStructure NSR-10 Support Matters for Colombia
Colombia sits in a seismically active region. As a result, structural engineers here work under demanding conditions every day. From high-rise developments in Bogotá to infrastructure across the country, local code compliance is critical. In fact, it’s a matter of public safety.
That’s why ProtaStructure for NSR-10 matters so much. Specifically, we’ve built deep support for the Reglamento Colombiano de Construcción Sismo Resistente (NSR-10) directly into the platform. Moreover, our development team continues to refine this support every year.
Target Displacement Calculation for NSR (Colombia)
Notably, our recent ProtaStructure 2027 release added Target Displacement Calculation for Pushover Analysis under the Colombian Seismic Code NSR-10. As a result, engineers working on Colombian projects can perform complete nonlinear static (pushover) analysis with code-compliant target displacement determination directly within ProtaStructure NSR.
Improved Post-Analysis Report for South American Codes
Furthermore, ProtaStructure now provides clearer traceability from input parameters to code-compliance verification for South American seismic projects. Therefore, Colombian engineers benefit from a platform that genuinely understands their local requirements.
New Partnerships and Business Growth in Colombia
The Bogotá seismic congress 2026 also delivered strong commercial results. Specifically, our team successfully closed deals with new clients seeking advanced structural solutions. Moreover, the event consolidated our brand presence across the Colombian market.
In other words, this wasn’t just about networking — it was about building real, long-term relationships with Colombian structural design software users. Above all, we strengthened ties with existing clients while welcoming new ones into the Prota Software community.
Industry Leadership Through National Alliances
Notably, our presence at the XII Congreso Nacional Ingeniería Sísmica was also strengthened by guild leadership. Specifically, acting as Vice President of the Association of Structural Engineers and Geotechnicians of Antioquia, the event enabled key strategic outreach.
As a result, we fostered closer institutional ties with the Colombian Association of Seismic Engineering (AIS) and several regional guilds. Furthermore, this collaboration lays the groundwork for nationwide initiatives to elevate the standards of the structural engineering profession. In other words, the impact of this congress extends far beyond a single event.
A Trusted Colombian Structural Design Software Backed by 40+ Years
ProtaStructure isn’t a new arrival. In fact, Prota Software has over 40 years of industry expertise. As a result, we’ve grown alongside generations of structural engineers. Furthermore, we’ve refined our tools through real-world feedback on complex projects.
Today, firms in more than 90 countries trust our structural analysis software Colombia engineers also rely on. Specifically, they choose it for safe, fast, and efficient design. Moreover, our Colombian structural design software draws on that same global engine.
What does that mean for engineers in Bogotá? Simply put, when you open structural engineering software for Colombia, you tap into a battle-tested platform. Furthermore, it has proven itself across diverse seismic zones, building typologies, and code regimes.
Technology and Innovation: ProtaStructure NSR-10 Highlights
Beyond NSR-10 code coverage, our booth demonstrations focused on three pillars: Performance-Based Design software, seismic isolation design software, and BIM-driven workflows. Specifically:
Performance-Based Design Software
Performance-Based Design (PBD) tools sit at the heart of modern seismic engineering. Therefore, our Performance-Based Design platform attracted strong interest from Colombian engineers. Moreover, PBD structural software enables more refined design decisions for irregular and high-rise structures.

Seismic Isolation and Mitigation
Furthermore, seismic isolation design software capabilities drew major attention. Specifically, base isolation design software and seismic mitigation software solutions in ProtaStructure help engineers protect critical infrastructure. As a result, Colombian engineers can deliver safer projects in seismically active regions.
BIM-Based Workflows
In addition, our BIM-based workflows showed how design, analysis, and documentation connect seamlessly. Therefore, project teams can accelerate delivery while reducing errors.
Knowledge Exchange and Regional Growth
Indeed, the National Earthquake Engineering Congress 2026 wasn’t just about software demos. Specifically, it was a chance to share ideas with industry experts and learn about emerging trends in earthquake engineering and structural design. Moreover, attendees and our team exchanged perspectives on the future of resilient, sustainable structures across Latin America.
As a result, we left Bogotá with a deeper understanding of regional needs. Furthermore, these insights will directly shape how we continue to develop ProtaStructure NSR for the Colombian market.
